Knotting Hill Photography shooting with my good friend Jason Connel http://www.jasonconnel.com
Fate? Coincidence? Divine intervention? Just a bit of computer luck? For Stephanie and Erik, the reason for the connection didn’t matter. Meeting through the online dating site, eHarmony, the couple got engaged in Disneyland, Florida then tied the knot last week in a romantic ceremony at Briscoe Manor http://briscoemanor.com/ in Richmond, Texas.
Paying strong tribute to their religious beliefs, Stephanie and Erik—a teacher and employee at Chase—made their union official with a sophisticated ceremony in Briscoe’s on-site chapel, followed by a cut-loose reception that featured tail-shaking and even a nod to the couple’s affinity for The Magic Kingdom.
As a photographer, the cool thing about photographing a wedding like this is it’s much easier to capture real feelings and real emotions when both the marrying couple and their guests are relaxed and having a good time. What’s going on around the couple—the venue, the flower arrangements, the decor, etc.—plays into a good photo, but those facets amount to very little if guests feel uncomfortable or the room is tense. When everyone lets loose, it makes my job much, much easier. Hats off to Erik and Stephanie. It was a pleasure to shoot your big day.
