A couple weekends ago, I had the pleasure of shooting at one of my favorite Austin wedding venues—Zilker Botanic Gardens. Zilker is pretty much a photographer’s dream because it’s packed with lush green hideaways, an array of natural settings and plenty of places where we can play around with light. I mean, where else in Texas are you going to find a bamboo tea house that’s just waiting for a gorgeous couple to hop inside? Zilker is also a beautiful spot for showcasing a couple like Rusty and Brittany who are clearly just crazy for each other. Here’s their story in Brittany’s words:
Rusty and I met in my junior year of college in the Napa Valley area. He was a banquet server at a winery close to my school. I went to a stuffy college, and Rusty was a long haired hippy that drove around campus in a very loud, red Geo Metro. I met him at a friend’s house one night and we just started talking. He gets me like nobody else in the world ever has. I have a genetic disease similar to MS, and because of it, I gave up hope a long time ago that I would ever have a fairy tale. Rusty proved me wrong. He helps me walk when I am wobbly, sings eighties music in the car with me and brightens up all of my days. And in spite of my efforts to convince him that it was a bad idea, we fell in love.
