Bride Ella Shipley reflects on her big day:

Bryan and I met more than ten years ago while working at Wal-Mart back in high school. We started dating on December 24th, 2001 and we have been together ever since. After six months of dating, we went on a senior trip back packing through Europe together. Everyone told us that trip would make or break us. Actually, it almost broke us, but we learned how to conquer our obstacles.

While in Europe we were almost arrested in London, Paris, Florence, and Rome. We were almost robbed in London and we had to pay $1,000 in Rome to replace a bed Bryan thought would be fun to jump on and break. We were detained at the Rome airport for, and I quote, “Looking too much like a Bonnie and Clyde couple.” If it wasn’t for me knowing how to talk my way out of anything, we would probably still be detained somewhere in Europe (Thanks mom for making me the middle child)!

We came back with more life experience and respect for each other than most married couples develop in their first five years. After we moved in together and at the 6 year mark in our relationship we bought a house. Finally after ten and a half years together, we decided to get married.

We wanted our wedding to be laid back, comfortable, fun and simple. Everyone who knows us knows that we are easy going, goofy, spontaneous, down for a good vacation and a never-know-what-you’re-going-to-get type of couple. We wanted our day to reflect our that…

When I began walking down the aisle, I started to get choked up. I paused for a moment and almost ran back inside because I hate people seeing me cry. At that moment, I realized that I was finally, after ten long, crazy and amazing years, I was about to marry my best friend. I knew if I ran back in, everyone would have thought I was a runaway bride so I just kept on trucking down that aisle. I was shaking like a leaf on a tree, but I wasn’t nervous. It was more of a realization of our future together. That day couldn’t have been more perfect. We can’t wait to see all the pictures.
